Federico Barriga Salazar

Federico Barriga-Salazar is a Director in the Europe Sovereign team and has been based in Frankfurt since 2018. His current credit portfolio focuses on Greece and Central European Economies. He is a regular contributor to EU-wide research papers at Fitch, including on topics related to ESG.
Federico previously worked in Fitch´s Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Sovereign teams based in London. Additionally, he worked as a Risk Manager in an Impact Investment Fund based in Zurich and as an analyst covering Latin America for the Economist Intelligence Unit based in London. His first role was working on energy models for OPEC. He has advanced degrees in economics and international relations from universities in the US, Germany and Austria.
